Sani2c cycle race

Farmer Glen from our community started the Sani2c cycle race, this event causes much excitement in our community during May.  BirdLife Sisonke man a refreshment table at Belmont Conference Center in Donnybrook we get paid for doing this, these funds are used for conservation and educational purposes within the birding community.  This year the race was over three days, three teams of each about 1400 cyclists raced from Underberg to Scottburgh.  The first day they have refreshment tables at Pevensey, next is our table in Donnybrook, then the cyclists spend the first night at Mackenzie Club in Eastwolds area.  Next day they cycle through the Umkomaas valley right through to Jolivet where they spend the night.  On the third day they cycle through gum plantations, sugar cane fields and Vernon Crookes Reserve.  Here blow are some photos that I took whilst our grandchildren were off loading the stock of fruit and veg to feed the cyclists.

Mum's 80th birthday lunch and Dad's birthday lunch in September was very special.
